BEAVER DAM -- Mukwonago's Mark Bemowski will be rooting for the wind to pick up this afternoon at Old Hickory Golf Club, site of the 107th Wisconsin State Amateur Championship.
Bemowski, a six-time State Am champ who has made a remarkable 40 consecutive cuts in the event, shot a second-round 73 Tuesday morning for a two-day total of 11-over 155.
With half of the 180-player field still on the course this afternoon, Bemowski, 61, is on the bubble to make it 41 straight cuts made. The projected cut, which is the low 70 players and ties, is near 155.
University of Wisconsin senior-to-be and River Falls native Tyler Obermueller fired a second-round, 5-under 67 to vault into contention. He's the leader in the clubhouse at 2-under 142.
Through his first three holes in the second round, UW's Danny Zimmerman is the leader at 5 under for the tournament.
