IRS Uses Bill Collectors/Loses Money
Bill Wineke

The Republicans in Congress have always suspected that little people don't pay enough taxes.  So, a few years ago, they authorized a program to turn IRS bill collecting over to private collectors.

The deal was this:  The collectors would go after about $1 billion owed the government and would keep about 25 percent of what they collected.  They would get rich and the government would get what it was owed.

So far, the collectors have collected $49 million and billed the government for about twice that amount.

You do really have to wonder if this administration can do anything right.
