The Danger of Crying "Wolf!"
Bill Wineke

The Bush administration says it has evidence that North Korea helped Syria build a nuclear plant that could have been the mainstay of a Syrian nuclear bomb.

The plant was bombed by Israel last September and no longer exists. Now, the United States is negotiating a disarmament agreement with North Korea and the CIA released information that the rogue nation tried to help proliferate nuclear technology to Syria.

If so, we might want to think twice about making any more concessions to North Korea.  If not, we might want to wonder why the information is being released at this late date.

One thing is clear: We are still paying a price for the "weapons of mass destruction" that were never found in Iraq. We don't trust our leaders when they issue dire warnings.

One of these days, they'll warn us about something truly dangerous and no one will believe them.

There's a price to pay for crying "wolf!"
