Wisconsin's oldest golf course to be sold
Associated Press

GREEN LAKE -- The state 's oldest golf course is going up for sale.

The Tuscumbia Country Club will be sold by Inland Real Estate Auctions Inc. on May 30. The sale also will include a separate building for use as a bed and breakfast, the 10-unit Green Lake Lodge luxury log cabin condominium development and attached vacant land.

The auction for the land, condominiums and building will be open to the public, officials said. But the golf course auction will not. It 'll be conducted using sealed bids.

The country club was established in 1896. It includes a clubhouse and a full-service restaurant called 680 North.

Green Lake Lodge has 10 luxury condominiums that buyers can either use as personal homes or as part of a condominium-hotel project. The condos were each valued between $240,000 and $500,000.

The properties are owned by John Geils of Bensenville, Ill.

The properties are being sold separately to attract interest from various types of buyers, including developers, golf course operators and people interested in buying condos, said Frank Diliberto, president of Inland.

"Sellers come to us with difficult propositions. These are complex deals, " Diliberto said. "When we begin marketing the property and try to understand where the appetites are, we can fashion the program to meet the buyers ' needs."
