Redevelopment of the former Chi-Chi's restaurant site at 414 Grand Canyon Drive to include retail and office space got the go-ahead Monday from the Madison Plan Commission. Sara Investment Real Estate is planning a $7.5 million project that includes two buildings, project manager Dave Stone said.
A two-story, 21,000-square-foot building near the western property line would house office space upstairs and retail space downstairs, he said. Along the south side of the property, a one-story building of approximately 12,000 square feet will provide retail space, he said. He declined to identify potential businesses.
Demolition of the restaurant building is expected to begin in early or mid-August. Bouril Design Studio is the architect for the project.
