When: Wheelchair start is 9:45 a.m. Run start is 10 a.m., with multiple waves. Both begin on the Capitol Square. Walk start is 10 a.m. at State and Mifflin streets.
Late registration: Friday from noon to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 7 to 9 a.m. inside the Nicholas Johnson Pavilion at the Kohl Center, 601 W. Dayton St. No registration at the Square.
Fee: $35 runners, $30 walkers.
Finish line: The first runners will begin arriving at Camp Randall about 10:25 a.m. Post-race festivities begin about 10:45 a.m. and will include live music by The Eddie Butts Band. Signs at the stadium will direct spectators on where to enter.
Course: For the last three years, walkers and runners bypassed State Street due to road construction. This year, State Street is open, but race organizers have decided to keep runners off it, probably permanently. Walkers will still use State Street. By splitting the courses, race organizers can more quickly clear the Downtown area, which pleases police and residents, said race director Jim Bradley.
What’s new: The 8K run will feature disposable computer timing chips.
