About 150 runners Saturday will wear T-shirts in memory of Kevin Peyton, a 14-year-old Middleton boy who died unexpectedly in his sleep last October.
Kevin loved running Crazylegs and had been planning to do so again this year, said his father, Steve. "This is going to be a celebration of his life and his persistence and the courage he displayed in so many areas."
Kevin, a student at Glacier Creek Middle School in Middleton, underwent open-heart surgery at age 2 and had a form of autism, said his father. The cause of his death has not been conclusively determined.
As runners here are honoring Kevin, one of his cousins will do the same at a military base in Iraq. Ryan McAnally, a Navy officer, has organized a run Saturday for about 45 troops, Steve Peyton said.
