Alcohol is believed to have played a role in separate motorcycle accidents that sent the operators to hospitals overnight Saturday and Sunday.
In Rock County south of Edgerton at about 10 p.m. Saturday, a 2003 Harley-Davidson driven by Matthew J. Ison Jr., 37, of Edgerton, went out of control on a northbound curve and skidded more than 100 feet, left the road and traveled another 100 feet, crashing into several small trees, according to Rock County Sheriff 's reports.
Ison, who was not wearing a helmet, suffered head and internal injuries and was taken to an Edgerton hospital before being transferred to UW Hospital, where he was in fair condition Sunday.
He was tentatively cited with drunken driving and unreasonable/imprudent speed.
In Madison at about 2:45 a.m. David J. Spangler, 21, lost control of a motorcycle in the 3600 block of Tulane Avenue and crashed into a garage door.
He was tentatively charged with drunken driving (third offense), driving after revocation and driving an unregistered vehicle, according to Madison police reports.
Spangler was admitted to UW Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police reported.
His condition was serious. A report on whether he was wearing a helmet was not available.
