How to get involved

Take a Stake in the Lakes Days, an annual celebration of the Madison lakes, offers a great way to get involved in lake cleanup and other issues.

Sponsored by the Dane County Lakes and Watershed Commission, the event is scheduled  this year for June 7-21.

Here's what's happening:
June 7: Clean Lakes Festival sponsored by the Mad-City Ski Team.
June 14: Clean-up on Lakes Mendota, Kegonsa, and Wingra. If you want to participate or are a member of a group that wants to clean up a favorite shoreline, contact Rhea Stangel-Maier, event  coordinator, at 224-3601 or by e-mail at stangel-maier@co.dane.wi.us
June 19: Paddle to Work Day.
June 19: Dane County Water Champion Award Ceremony.
June 21: Clean-up on Lakes Monona and Waubesa.
