Amateur baseball: Lucky 13 for Hollandale
State Journal staff

Kurt Ritschard's two-out, two-run single lifted host Hollandale to a 5-4 victory over Monroe in 13 innings in a Home Talent League Western Section amateur baseball game Sunday afternoon.

Justin Hahn doubled in two runs in the top of the 13th to give Monroe a 4-2 lead. Will Schlimgen singled in a run to cut the gap to 4-3. Ritschard worked the final seven innings to get the win.

New Glarus 5, Argyle 3 (10)
Wade Hanna's single scored Mark Hamilton, who reached base with a one-out double, with the lead run as visiting New Glarus won.

Hanna later scored on a wild pitch. Justin Crotty's two-out, run-scoring single tied the score at 3 in the eighth for Argyle. Lee Vlasak pitched all 10 innings to get the win.

Wiota 17, Richland Center 1
Jay Haldiman had three hits and three RBIs and Tommy Meier added three RBIs as host Wiota won in seven innings.

Wiota scored eight runs in the first on five hits, two walks, a hit batter and two errors. 

Verona 15, Blanchardville 1
John Volker and Matt Peetz had two-run singles in a 12-run fifth as visiting Verona won in seven innings.

Matt Niffenegger and Mitch Staley combined on four-hitter for Verona, while Danny Koss had three RBIs.

HTL SOUTHEAST
Fort Atkinson 3, Cambridge 2
Tim Garant's RBI single broke a 2-2 tie in the seventh and lifted visiting Fort Atkinson to the win.

Stoughton 8, Albion 2
Ryan Von Haden allowed two singles in eight innings and also had three hits and scored twice as visiting Stoughton won.

Scott Muehlemann, Dave Hanson, Tyler Wilberg and Dan Schrum had two RBIs apiece for Stoughton.

Deerfield 3, Whitewater 0
Mike Schultz pitched a one-hitter and Alex Anderberg's RBI single broke a scoreless tie in the fourth as host Deerfield won.

Kyle Trewyn's single in the third was Whitewater's only hit. Anderberg also added a sacrifice fly in a two-run eighth.

Jefferson 13, Lake Mills 3
Craig Lange had a two-run single in a five-run third as host Jefferson won in seven innings.

Chris Folbrecht and Ryan Wagner each had two RBIs for Jefferson. Ryan Wagner allowed three runs in seven innings to get the win.
 
Evansville 6, Orfordville 4 (10)
Nick Larson pitched two innings in relief and Chad Rasmussen had three hits and two RBIs as visiting Evansville won in 10 innings.

Evansville scored the go-ahead run on an error. Brad Brey's two-run single tied the game at 4 in the eighth for Orfordville.

HTL NORTHERN
Black Earth 6, Ashton 3 (10)
Andrew Bakkum's single drove in Brad Kittoe with the go-ahead run in the 10th inning as visiting Black Earth won.

Ashton loaded the bases in the bottom of the 10th, but Kyle Brabender struck out to end the game. 

Cross Plains 7, Pine Bluff 4
Tyler Fuhrman hit a grand slam with no outs in the top of the ninth to lift visiting Cross Plains to the win.

Kody Simon loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth, but induced a grounder to end the game. Cole Payne had a solo home run and a two-run single for Pine Bluff.

Mazomanie 10, Reedsburg 4
Trent Schneider had three hits and five RBIs, including a bases-clearing double in the eighth, as host Mazomanie won.

Plain 13, Cazenovia 2
James James allowed four hits in five innings and also had a two-run single in an eight-run fifth as visiting Plain won in seven innings.

Middleton 10, Waunakee 2
Ryan Slaght went seven innings, and Josh Hinson hit a two-out grand slam in the eighth as host Middleton won.

Tim Cleary had three RBIs for Middleton.

HTL EASTERN
Sun Prairie, 5, Rio 4
Aaron Gross singled in the winning run with two outs in the seventh as host Sun Prairie rallied to win.

Andy Minga and Reed Harmon had RBI singles in a three-run sixth for Sun Prairie.

Monona 10, Cottage Grove 9
Visiting Monona scored three runs in the eighth on an error, a hit batter and a walk to rally for the win.

DeForest 5, Waterloo 2
Kyle Bussie hit a two-run double in the first and a solo home run in the sixth as visiting DeForest won.

McFarland 12, Marshall 5
Cory Schuchardt allowed three runs in six innings and had three RBIs as host McFarland won.

Joey Nartowicz drove in three runs for McFarland.

ROCK RIVER LEAGUE
Madison Laurel Tavern 7, Ashippun 1
Aaron Daniels gave up two hits and a run in eight innings and Casey Powell had three hits, scored three times and drove in a run as host Laurel Tavern won.
