The big question
Where did all the depth go?
The deepest position the roster has seen its herd thin considerably this offseason. Franchise-tagged defensive tackle Corey Williams was shipped to Cleveland for a second-round pick. Harrell, the Packers' first-round pick in 2007, injured his back lifting weights and had surgery. Jolly has recovered from a shoulder injury but has legal issues following his arrest in Houston earlier this month. Gbaja-Biamila, their pass-rushing specialist, had offseason arthroscopic knee surgery.
Player to watch
Harrell.
A ruptured biceps tendon shelved him after three games in his final college season and forced him to miss all of last year's offseason practices. Now the back injury has done the same this year, and given his unproductive stint as a rookie, the last thing Harrell needed was to miss another offseason of work. He's supposed to be ready for camp, but right now he looms as a huge question mark — and a potential bust if he doesn't get going.
Key competition
Defensive tackle.
The Packers are set with the run-stuffing and block-absorbing Pickett, but with Williams gone, Jolly's status iffy and Harrell yet to prove he can be counted upon, the other tackle spot is up for grabs. A darkhorse in the competition: Colin Cole, the forgotten man in last year's rotation who's a coaching staff favorite.
