NEW ORLEANS -- For a half, Michael Redd and the Milwaukee Bucks looked poised to knock off one of the NBA's best teams. But it all went downhill from there.
Redd missed his last nine shots, and the Bucks, after leading by four at halftime, lost 106-92 to the New Orleans Hornets Monday afternoon.
"We were missing open shots," Milwaukee coach Larry Krystkowiak said. "To survive and win games, when you're open ... you need to make shots. As simple as it sounds, that's something we didn't do in the second half."
Redd scored a team-high 19 points, but had just two in the second half.
The shooting guard made four of his first five shots and the Bucks (16-25) used a 13-0 run to take an early 15-6 lead. Redd had 13 points and two 3-pointers in the first quarter.
But New Orleans (28-12) cut the deficit to 54-50 at halftime, then used a 12-0 run to grab a 62-56 lead, sending the Bucks to their fifth loss in six games.
It was the Hornets' fifth straight win. Center Tyson Chandler led the way with 20 points and 15 rebounds. Four of Chandler's baskets came on dunks, three set up by point guard Chris Paul, who finished with 16 points and 10 assists.
Peja Stojakovic scored 18 points, including four 3-pointers as New Orleans secured its fourth straight double-digit victory at home.
Milwaukee got as close as 71-69 on Andrew Bogut's free throw. But Stojakovic hit another 3, and Paul sank a driving floater off the glass, igniting an 11-0 run that included back-to-back alley-oops from Paul to Chandler early in the fourth quarter.
"We've got to get to a place where we're more mature," Redd said. "They made a push and it seemed like we folded. We can't afford to do that."
