MIAMI -- With an affinity for struggling on the road, the Milwaukee Bucks' season hit a new low Monday night.
Facing a Miami Heat squad loaded with players from the NBA Development League, the Bucks allowed Chris Quinn, filling in for guard Jason Williams, to score a career-high 24 points as the league's worst team beat the Bucks 78-73.
It was the second time in six days the Heat defeated the Bucks (24-45), who fell to 6-28 on the road. The two victories over Milwaukee, which recently fired general manager Larry Harris, are the only ones Miami has posted in its past 13 games. The win also marked the first time the Heat (13-57) defeated an opponent twice this season.
Quinn was a late insertion into the starting lineup for Williams, who will be sidelined a week with a right thumb injury that required a hard cast.
Five of Miami's nine players who saw action played in the NBA Development League earlier this month. Stephane Lasme, Blake Ahearn and Kasib Powell recently signed 10-day contracts and combined for 10 points and eight rebounds.
"Defensively we did a good job and offensively we were horrible," said Bucks center Andrew Bogut, who finished with 16 points and 17 rebounds.
Michael Redd led the Bucks with 24 points.
Knee sidelines Bell
Bucks guard Charlie Bell tore a ligament in his right knee Saturday, the team confirmed, and will miss at least two weeks, breaking a string of 191 consecutive appearances dating to the 2005-06 season.
Dave Babcock, Milwaukee's director of player personnel, said Bell tore the medial collateral ligament in the knee.
Bell was averaging 7.6 points and 2.5 rebounds a game.
