State champions Mike Battista of Madison West and Cody Strang of Madison Edgewood led first-team selections, but Madison La Follette's Andrew Steinhofer walked away with Player of the Year honors on the Madison All-City boys golf team.
They were honored Thursday during a banquet at Blackhawk Country Club along with fellow first-teamers Quinn Moe of Madison Memorial and Jessica Gerry of Madison Abundant Life. Gerry is the first girl to be named to the All-City boys golf team.
The team does not include La Follette senior Max Hosking, a Northern Illinois recruit who was not eligible for consideration because of a late-season athletic code violation.
Making the second team were Memorial's Tim McCormick, Sean Regan and Stephen Lange along with Edgewood's Mike Murphy and Nick Porchetta. Battista and Regan received distinguished senior awards.
* Meanwhile, Memorial boys golf coach Jeremy Schlitz announced that he will not coach girls golf at the school after seven seasons. He also is an assistant coach for the Spartans boys basketball team and is in charge of preparing opponents' scouting reports.
