TOWN OF FENNIMORE — Two adults and a teenager were injured Monday in a car crash on Highway 18 in Grant County.
A preliminary report from the Grant County Sheriff’s Department said Stephanie Mercanli, 32, of New Lisbon, was driving east on Highway 18 in a 1996 Audi when she tried to pass a semitrailer in a no-passing zone. She crashed into a 2003 Nissan Passat driven by Kammy Jones, 34, of Boscobel, traveling the other direction near the intersection with Orr Road in the town of Fennimore. Jones’ 14-year-old son was in the Nissan as well.
Mercanli had to be extracted from her vehicle and was taken to the Grant Regional Hospital. The Joneses were taken to Boscobel Area Health Care. Grant County authorities did not provide the extent of the injuries.
All were wearing seat belts and both vehicles were totaled, according to the Sheriff’s Department. There have been no arrests.
