A 45-year-old man was seriously injured in a head-on crash Monday afternoon southwest of Black Earth, the Dane County Sheriff’s Office said.

Ronald C. Patterson, of Black Earth, was going south through a curvy stretch of Highway F, north of Enerson Road, when he swerved into the path of a northbound dump truck driven by Scott A. Breunig, 34, of Spring Green.

Breunig was unable to avoid Patterson’s 1995 Toyota Camry.

Patterson, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered serious head and leg injuries and was flown to UW Hospital. Breunig was not injured in the crash.

Patterson’s license is revoked and the Sheriff’s Office said he will be receiving numerous traffic tickets related to the crash. The Sheriff’s Office said alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.
