JOHNSON CREEK — Former La Crosse Mayor Mark Johnsrud has been named the village administrator for this Jefferson County community.

Johnsrud was ousted in the February primary when he finished fifth in a field of seven after one term in office. He is scheduled to begin his new job on April 27. The village will pay Johnsrud $73,500, compared with the $70,500 he earned as La Crosse mayor.

The village board selected Johnsrud from among 56 applicants. Johnson Creek, a community of about 2,200 people, Johnson Creek is working on revitalizing its downtown, expanding its park system, branding the community, and creating a central corridor.
