MORRISONVILLE — A year after Morrisonville residents had waist-deep water in their basements, the rural community has been approved to receive $243,000 in federal funds to repair its sewer system.
The state Commerce Department granted Dane County approval to use the Community Development Block Grant to help reduce the risk of water and sewer back-ups in basements.
The $1.3 million project will also be paid for by the Wisconsin Small Cities Community Development Block-Emergency Assistance public facilities program, which helps repair and rebuild water and sewer systems damaged by last year’s floods.
