A security camera caught clear images of a man and a woman believed to have stolen several flat-screen television sets and other items from a Downtown building Tuesday, Madison police said Friday.

The camera shows the pair walking back and forth through a carpeted area of the multi-unit building in the 300 block of West Washington Avenue about three blocks from the Capitol Square, police spokesman Joel DeSpain said.

They appear wary, looking around and stopping to peer through a glass door several times, but are apparently unaware of the security camera.

At one point the man forces open the glass door, which leads to a fitness center, DeSpain said.

Investigators are hoping someone will recognize the pair and call Madison Area Crime Stoppers at 608-266-6014.
