Gas Prices Too High? Don't Blame Bush
Bill Wineke

President Bush held a press conference today and explained why gasoline prices are so high:  It's because the evil Democrats won't allow the oil companies to drill in the Alaskan wilderness and it's because the evil Democrats won't let the oil companies build new refineries.

Which suggests that the president doesn't have a clue to what's going on.  Surprise?

The price of gasoline is not due to a lack of supply.  The nation has been adding to its stock of fuel since last October. Gasoline usage in this country has actually decreased because of the recession.

And the refineries are operating at 85 percent efficiency. The oil companies have expanded capacity. They aren't going to build billion-dollar refineries to create gasoline that no one buys.

What I don't understand is why the president keeps lying to us about everything.
