GREEN BAY — Cody Winiarski, Dan Burawa and Denny Clement combined for a five-hit shutout to lead the Madison Mallards to a 2-0 victory over the Green Bay Bullfrogs in a Northwoods League amateur baseball game Wednesday night.
Winiarski earned the victory for the Mallards (19-14), tossing six shutout innings while striking out three before a crowd of 841 at Joannes Stadium.
Burawa and Clement finished things up, striking out seven in a combined three innings of relief.
Troy Channing had a pinch-hit RBI single and Harold Riggins drove in the other run for the Mallards, who snapped a three-game losing streak.
Channing, Riggins, Sun Prairie native Kurtis Muller, Mark Ginther and Tyson Blaser registered hits for the Mallards, who have lost eight of 11 games.
Madison finishes up its two-game series at Green Bay (13-20) tonight.
