Greg Pardee takes his job managing Tower Hill State Park very seriously, right down to the task of cleaning the park's bathrooms. Were it not for Greg Pardee, who maintains Tower Hill State Park by himself, erosion on the park's trails would make it difficult for hikers. One of the things that makes Tower Hill State Park unique is its restored lead shot tower. Here, park manager Greg Pardee parks near the entrance to the tunnel through which mine carts traveled to bring out the lead shot. Tower Hill State Park near Spring Green, with its modest complement of 11 campsites, may be among those parks that will feel the impact of state budget cuts for agencies such as the Department of Natural Resources.
