In an exercise designed to help with depth perception and balance, Preston Baerenwald, 12, wears prism glasses while trying to navigate a walking rail at the Vision Therapy Center. The clinic is the second to open in recent months in the Madison area specializing in vision therapy, a practice that remains controversial in the medical community but is popular with parents who say it has helped their children's reading skills improve.
