The Fitchburg man accused of shooting a Madison resident to death describes himself in his Facebook account with the motto: “Stay involved! Life is too valuable too waste!”
Perry E. Lucas was being held in the Dane County Jail on a tentative charge of first-degree intentional homicide in the death of Detarius Martin.
Fitchburg police say they believe Lucas fired multiple shots Tuesday after a disturbance broke out among several people in the Leopold Way apartment building where Lucas lived.
On his Facebook page, Lucas has posted several photographs of himself and a video clip in which several men run through a multi-story apartment building laughing and brandishing what appears to be a toy handgun. Lucas is credited as the “commentator” in the clip, which is described as “The last few minutes of a wonderful evening on the town with the peeps.”
In one section of the Facebook page Lucas, 28, describes himself as a Zen master, a supporter of human and animal rights, and says: “I have a strong desire to achieve great things. I am passionate about what I do and I like to surround myself with people that also want more out of life.”
The Internet page lists him as a 1998 graduate of West High School and a member of the 2009 graduating class at Madison Area Technical College.
